SONG OF THE LIGHTS
Dawn breaks, and the early morning angels
Perch upon the ears
Of every human being
Who has resisted the thought of suicide.
Angels who proclaim
Another day of the struggles
Another dream of the resurrection
Another song of the lights.
Angels who know
That all is short-lived but passion
Passion for people, passion for places
A new day has come and we're off to the races.
Angels who know that the secret
Is the light from a lover's eye
Or the light of the saving sun.
Angels who proclaim
Another day of the struggles
Another dream of the resurrection
Another song of the lights
Dawn breaks and God sends his promise
To every human being who has resisted the thought of suicide.
