Our country is falling into the abyss.

A moment of silence please, for the freedoms we will miss.

Drifting off to sea, a woman's bodily autonomy.

These are wanton and dangerous times of a reckless high Court,

Decisions based on whims and sport.

Not concerned with checks and balances,

Or compassionate ways.

Today it's the women, tomorrow they come for the gays.

The orange madman left his mark in ketchup on a wall,

In disregard for right and good, he made this nation small.

Our country has fallen into a black hole,

The will of the people held in disregard,

Roe versus Wade lies in shards,

Like glass in the plates the orange man threw,

On the day his minions stormed the Capitol,

Without a thought of me and you.

Our country is falling into an abyss,

Into a giant black hole in space.

Hate it thrives and eats alive,

Those of another race.

The black, the Mexican, the Asian,

Good luck if you are not Caucasian.

If you are female and poor you are on your own.

To have that baby despite your desire otherwise.

The high Court looks at you with disapproving eyes,

A damned patriarchal entity who thinks your body its domain.

Setting you up for a life of pain and shame.

Meanwhile we are coming undone, by our fascination with the gun,

Madmen shooting up schools while our leaders claim 

there's nothing they can do for us

Except pass laws to control a woman's uterus.

But listen close to this, you who orchestrate the fall.

America was meant as a melting pot

With liberty and justice for all.

If you do not want an abortion do not have one,

If you do not want a same sex marriage, 

Marry someone of the opposite persuasion.

Make no such laws for those of us living out our lives,

No such laws are justified, there is no such occasion.

Do not curtail my liberties, kindly do not tread on me.

Give us back our freedoms, take away your hate,

Remember the separation of church and state

Or watch with horror the shit show of this,

America slipping into the abyss.
